A transfer applicant is one who has previously attended an accredited postsecondary institution after earning a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma. Students may apply for transfer of credits from registered programs at Globe Institute of Technology or from other colleges and universities. The transcripts of all individuals applying for transfer credit are evaluated by a member of the Office of Academic Affairs. To be considered for admission as a transfer applicant, the following is generally required:
- An interview with a member of the Admissions Office
- A completed application for admission accompanied by a non-refundable application fee of $50
- An official high school or equivalency diploma and a high school transcript or GED certification with scores unless the applicant is able to provide evidence of having earned an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
- Proof of immunizations to the extent required by New York State law.
Transfer of Credits from Other Institutions
Transfer credit may be granted on a case-by-case basis for coursework completed at an accredited college or university or subject to the terms of an articulation agreement between Globe Institute of Technology and
an accredited institution.
The Office of Academic Affairs will determine if the level and the content of a course are comparable to that offered at Globe Institute of Technology or if a course is a suitable alternate. Applicants with foreign credentials must submit official transcripts from secondary and post-secondary institutions attended. Any transcript that is not in English must be accompanied by a notarized affidavit attesting to the accuracy of the attached English translation.
Degree credit for transfer work depends on grades earned as well as degree and departmental requirements. Only courses with a C or higher grade may be transferred.
