Applicants for admission into degree or certificate programs are required to have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent. Applicants for admission are accepted without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, national or ethnic origin, handicap, marital, parental, or veteran status.
Applications for admission may be obtained by contacting or visiting the Admissions Office. Applicants are encouraged to complete and submit their applications well in advance, clearly indicating the desired program, session, and intended starting date.
Placement Testing: To succeed in a degree or certificate program, it is important for students to have the required level of basic skills required to support their studies in general, and/or as prerequisite to specific coursework. Therefore, placement testing is conducted to determine if there is a need for non-credit work.
Admissions staff members are available to discuss the institution's programs and to conduct a tour of the facilities.
Every candidate for admission is required to have an admissions interview and provide evidence of a high school or equivalency diploma for review. Following the interview, applicants are scheduled for the required entrance testing. Once Globe Institute of Technology has determined that applicants have met the admissions requirements, they are informed by the Office of Academic
Affairs of the outcome and are invited to register for courses. An applicant who does not satisfy the admissions requirements is also informed by letter.
Admission to Globe Institute of Technology is granted only for the semesters of acceptance. Applicants who do not start as planned must apply to reactivate
the application for subsequent semesters and may be required to pay an additional application fee.
Advanced Standing: An applicant accepted into a degree or certificate program may be granted advanced standing equivalent to a maximum of one half of the total number of a program's required credits. Advanced standing may be granted
through transfer of credits from coursework completed at an accredited college or university or through credit by examination.
Admission for International Students (F-1): Globe Institute of Technology is authorized by the U.S. Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service, to accept and enroll F-1 nonimmigrant students. International students should contact the Director of Admissions and request the International Student Admission Information packet which details requirements related to estimated living expenses and documentation required by consular officials in the country of origin. An international applicant who is already in the United States may prove his or her eligibility for admission by participating in the regular admissions procedures.
There is a $200 fee payable by international applicants due to the additional paperwork and staff time involved in processing the application.
Globe Institute of Technology will provide the international applicant who has met the admissions requirements and provided all supporting
documentation with a completed I-20 form (Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Students) so that he or she may apply for a student visa.
