Globe Institute of Technology has the only Division One Junior College Athletic Department in the Northeast. Our goal is to continually have the premiere athletic program at the junior college level on the east coast and we have made great strides to do so in our short time as an athletic department.
Globe Knight athletes have garnered All-Region, All-District and All-American honors while helping their respective teams win regional tournaments and compete at a high national level. Numerous student-athletes have succeeded at Globe and moved on to NCAA Division I, II and III programs to continue their academic studies while participating athletically. Recently the success has reached the professional level as a former Men’s Basketball player was drafted in the second round of the 2004 NBA Draft and a former Baseball Player was drafted in the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft
We offer athletic scholarships to those who qualify in 11 intercollegiate programs: Men’s Soccer, Women’s Volleyball, Men’s Track & Field, Women’s Track & Field, Men’s Cross Country, Women’s Cross Country, Women’s Basketball, Men’s Basketball, Baseball, Women’s Bowling and Men’s Bowling. We also offer a cheerleading/dance team that performs at our athletic events.
Knights Athletics will continue to compete in the 2006-2007 season at the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division One level in Region XV.
College athletics builds self-esteem, school and community spirit, and regional and national recognition. Anyone interested in competing in Globe Athletics should contact the coach of the respective sport they are interested in via email that is listed.
